Who is Giovanni?

History 101...

I started my career as an art director for a small ad agency in Upstate NY… two years later I was creative director for Ogilvy & Mather in NYC. Two years after that, I was senior creative and partner at Johnson & Marger. Luckily in those few quick years I learned a couple of important lessons about the business of advertising. One… I was very, very good at it; and two… it wasn't what I wanted to do. There was an upside… I found my love for photography.

There in lies the quandary… what to do? Stay in an industry that treated me very well… or change careers?

I did what any 27 year old with no idea what he was getting into would do… I walked away from advertising, became a photographer... and never looked back.

I’ve been a photojournalist now for the past 20 years… about five years ago I changed venues and now shoot out of the passion for my craft. Now I shoot for the emotion of the image. I now follow the triple "A" principle of photography... I shoot Anything, Anywhere, Anytime.

I wouldn’t change a thing.
